One thing I have tolerance for is a slight level of filth. Not because I'm a filthy person, but because I've seen some filthy places. I hooked up with a woman back when I was 24 and it was the first and only time I was greeted with a level of filth I couldn't stand. I came in and there was just a random piece of ham on the floor. I go into the bathroom and there's a turd floating in the toilet. The overall feel of her place was disorganized and cluttered.

I'm not the strongest duster, even though I do dust. I'm just not a every week or every other week duster. I do keep my dishes washed and my counter tops cleaned. Every now and then a stove stain will be present, but then I clean it as well. Cleanliness is in the eye of the beholder. You can never be too clean is my motto, but I have a tendency not to judge to harshly on someone's cleanliness initially. I'm more concerned in how they treat me. It doesn't matter to a hill of beans if they treat me like crap and they have a very clean place.

I actually have a neatnik male friend who's been seeing a slob for years. His place is neat as a pin but, from his description, hers looks more than "lived-in". For that reason alone they cannot live together, although they are engaged. I assume they're in a process to dealing with this, I don't know.
I have seen this several times before. If a woman doesnt want to clean, do dishes, or keep a clean house. That wont change when you marry. As years go by, it will get worse. Also if she doesnt keep a clean house. Does that me herself also.

Rumpa huh

Is this an elaborate advertisement for one of those robot vacuum cleaners?

That's Roomba. I used to have one. I named him Robbie. In a way he was like a pet.
"don't forget to pick up your shoes before you leave, so Robbie doesn't grab the shoe laces"
"oh Robbie, you ate your own cord again!"
"sounds like Robbie's stuck in the bathroom, let me go move the door.."
And he was always nice to come home to. What other pet vacuums your house?

I had to laugh at this because my little basket where I keep my hair dryer and curling irons fell over yesterday, and I still haven't picked it up.

That is totally unacceptable unless the dog ate it half way there.. an overnight ham attracts insects. Totally a dealbreaker if the person keeps cockroaches as pets.

The probability of it being a dealbreaker is inversely proportional to how hot she is or how desperate I am.

More than likely it would be a deal breaker if it was that bad. Or there better be a reeeeal good excuse.
