Why is sexual cheating worse than mental cheating? (woman, love, husband)

I remember a poll posted here where the question was: which is worse, having a romantic relationship without sex with someone else, or having a sexual relationship with someone else without romantic feelings? I think the almost unanimous answer was that the latter was worse.

Emotional affairs are worse, imo. It's heart wrenching watching your partner fall out of love with you, and fall in love with someone else; it's a slow and very painful process.

Sex is just sex, and can be done without affection.

you shouldnt be doing the same things to other people that are private between you and your partner

"emotional cheating" is a misguided concept a woman in the 20th century made up one weekend in order to guilt her husband into something. more on this later.

You can definitely hook up with someone without any romantic feelings at all. Sex has a biological urge component to it.
