Ok, so I've been on Match for quite some time. Not much luck and I'm not complaining as it's quite common. I wondered if it made a difference if I doubled my income and what kind of response I'd get. Personally, income potential is one of the lowest priorities to me.
Since I have nothing to lose and nothing to gain, I changed my income to 150k+ on my profile which is double my present intake.
There will be some who say I'm being dishonest but I'm inquisitive in the end result. I have zero interest in someone who makes income a priority. In fact, it has the opposite effect which is why I entitled this as a social experiment. I have no idea if the response will be positive or negative (I changed income only and nothing else in the profile). Will it bring out the sharks? In case anyone wondered I have no desire to act on anyone's response based on the income change. I was just curious to see if it made a difference.
In my case, my profile is ho hum but I am true to myself. Now I wonder if the income change generates any interest. In no way would I act on any response as it would be a false positive but hasn't anyone ever wondered about the results (yes, I'm aware any response to the income change would be the indicator).
No questions really. This is more about what transpires with a simple profile change to income. Perhaps nothing comes of it.

Women don't like money in and of itself. They like the status that it brings.
You'll have far better luck increasing your height and changing your pic to that of a model.
Your scientific method is flawed because it lacks a constant.
In order to prove your hypothesis that the variable (your income) is what is affecting the outcome, you need to have the exact same set of women looking at both profiles.
Think about it. If a hottie messages you after you change your income, you cannot know if she would have messaged you with your previous income, because you don't know if she has seen your profile before.
Basically, it all boils down to you playing games and wasting the time of women you have no intention of dating, so... have fun with that, genius!

You're missing the point entirely. I know what response my profile and pics have generated in interest over time. But what happens when you double your income? That's the only change made to the facts. The point wasn't to create an entirely fake profile but to see the result of a single change to a real profile.

Hey Einstein... HOW will you know that the person who messages you at the higher income wouldn't have done so at the lower income?
You seem like you are one of the ones who believes that all women share a personality and are basically motivated by the exact same thing(s). Admit it, that's your hypothesis, isn't it?
By the way, new poster, any utterance of the word "hypergamy" means a round of shots for all of us.
Why not up your game and don't even include income?
When I was on Match I wouldn't use that as part of my search criteria - age, body type, income exactly as stated, Pffffffft, right.
