Yeah, it is the wheel/hub assembly. I popped the cover off and teeth were laying there. Crap.
My dad and brothers had 04s and had problems. The old man sold his in 2010. Ended up with an 11 gasser. It is a sweet ride. I wanted to get a 6.2 Ford. I want to keep this one around for a while. It is a blast to drive.

I really love the 7.3 diesel, I would probably get a 6.0 for a deal. I know it's gonna have to be retired soon, if not just because the body has major rot and the suspension in the rear (springs) is shot. Luckily, my best friend has been able to band aid the rust problem for me. Like I said, the body is already 5 years older than the truck because my cousin put a utility body on it off of a 1992, back when he used it for his own business. I think if it had the original bed, it wouldn't be rotting like this right now.
I wanted to pee myself after I saw the KBB value for this thing was $5400 trade in value and $7400 private party. That's almost exactly what the value was back in 2008 with 100k less miles. My cousin tried getting $7K for it back in 08 and had no luck, then he sold it to me for $5K. I would expect less than somebody laughing in my face if I asked them for even $5K for this thing. I figured I'd be lucky convincing someone to pay me $2K for it.

I had to do an alternator last week on my fiance's Jetta, I thought it would be much harder. Luckily, it was very easy to get to. That's the first alternator I've ever done on my own on a front wheel drive vehicle. I had an 02 Focus back in the day, I needed assistance from my best friend to replace that. It was not convenient to get to, I'm pretty sure you had to go under the car to get to it. It was a pain in the ass!
I usually only work on vehicles myself out of necessity, repair costs are too much at the garage. Things like my truck are very easy to work on. Like I said, my best friend can help if it's a hard job. He lives 4 hours away at this point though, and now he's moving back up north for about 8 months for work. I can usually handle the simple stuff though!
My contribution to this manly car talk is a tip: When I hear a noise from my vehicle, I turn the radio up, and the noise goes away. Problem solved. LMAO

I took auto shop all through high school and wrenched on cars when I was a kid. I won't do it now. For one I don't have a garage and I'm also a lazy bastard, I can go get the oil changed for 30 bucks and can sit on my ass while someone else does the work. LOL. Plus you have to be all socially conscious now and capture the oil and take it somewhere to be recycled. When I was a kid dumping it behind someone else's house was "recycling" LOL. Can't do that sorta thing anymore.
No idea what to do for supper. I know bed is going to be early. Up before the asscrack of dawn.
