I'm a tall woman. And not even slightly athletic, nor interested in athletics in the least. Having the possibility of height in one's genetic makeup doesn't mean athletic skill or interest is a given.
You run into trouble when you're mapping out the aspirations you've decided your not-yet-conceived child will have.
Don't you realize you're wasting your g0d given talent by not automatically pursuing a sport? Height is a terrible thing to waste! (good for you following your passions!)
I think it is okay if the girl is average height or above average. If she is short that is when it could be an issue. I would probably go for the short girl if she is better looking than the tall girl if that says anything.

If she's really hot maybe you'll have a kid who can be an actor or actress.
Something realistic.

LOL, no athletic talent there to waste. More importantly, though, zero interest.
I know how this sounds but height is important if you are into sports big time and are going to give your son the roadmap to play sports mainly basketball. There is a difference if the mother is 5'0 tall vs if she were 5'9. Not saying don't date short or average height girls but you know there is a greater chance of the kids not being tall enough if she is short.
Yes some people are plugged into sports and know the ropes so there is that. Obviously the kid has to play sports early on and trained. Yes no guarantee of your sons making it pro even if they have the right attributes and know how.
Nutrition and exercise help and yes you can still play other sports like soccer or baseball at shorter heights. Maybe avoid dating short girls?
You can't always go with that "assumption". I know of several families where their son is taller than both of his parents. In the one case, the Dad is much taller but the kids mom is considered more average in height. My own family, brother is tall even tho mom was short.
I'm taller than both my parents. My wife is also taller than both her parents. We are both tall, and I guess as a result, our kids (so far) are at the 99-100 percentile for height at their age.
But, total coincidence that we are both tall as I'd rather find a person I am compatible with for the rest of my life, vs picking one on some physical trait.
I was big on sports in my youth, but lets be realistic that the chances of making it professionally and lasting more than 1-2 seasons in the pros is slim to none. I'd rather than focus their efforts on a career that would last them 30-40 years, vs one that might be 5 years tops, and no guarantee of a big-time contract at all.
This thread is closed for multiple reasons. First, it is not about relationships and is therefore off-topic for the Relationships forum. Second, threads concerning height are not permitted in this forum. That's enough for starters. Thread closed.
