So, women like a well-groomed man. Who is most likely to be well groomed in today's world? Gay men. So why would women find gay men more physically attractive than straight men? Atleast appearance wise. Is there some evolutionary psychology reason for it? Did women that selected for gay men end up more successful in raising straight women's offspring?

Whenever you find yourself needing to say, "Bear with me ..." or "hear me out," it means your theory is not fully cooked and you need to put it back in the oven for a little while.
When you say "like gay men" do you mean sexually because they would never in a million years view gay people like that. If anything girls have gay "friends" because they tend to act like women.

Most gay men have to put extra effort into their experience because dating is far more competitive in the gay male community than the heterosexual male to female market. Since calls for men to be excellently groomed and dressed, only makes sense that that will get more attention from women at first.
