OMG it would be funny to jumpscare someone who was trying to wake you with a gentle kiss. They're being all soft and quiet and you're just like "AAAH!!" right in their face.
My ex-wife used to flinch in fear. Her previous husband was an abuser.
One gf (after my divorce) would just nod quietly in acknowledgement when I kissed her.
Another gf actually kissed me back!

Kiss her on the shoulder, not on the face. It won’t startle her as much.
