Wouldn’t that actually be initiation???

This is why Women actually rule!

To that poster's point, is this considered a truism anymore? That it must be the male of the species who makes the first move? Does the dating dance still operate that way with people under 30, for instance?

Not really. I was thinking something like a "Hey, come sit over here!".

Many women over 60 are sexy and beautiful, but are mostly ignored by men, even those their own age.

My Lady Love is almost 60. I'll be 50 in 6 weeks. She's 9.5 years older, almost to the day.

Sexiest thing I've ever seen.

Meh.

I approached my now-husband first. We were 35 and 40.

Yeah, all the Women Ive been in relationships with approached me too, or had a friend tell me they were interested in me, except the Love of my Life.

I guess I am not what you'd call a typical male.

I do not understand bachelor(ette) parties that involve strippers. If you need someone else grinding up on you the night before you marry the love of your life, why the hell are you getting married?

I don't get strippers either, but I don't think it has anything to do with "need".

I agree. Night before an event that, the way most people do it, is kind of nerve-wracking, requires tons of prep and expense, they're trying to impress all of these family members and it's supposed to be all "perfect" (I don't necessarily agree with how many people do weddings either) and you wanna complicate things by filling the bellies of both intendeds with discomforting feelings about what their beloved is getting up to with strippers and shenanigans, out with their friends...that you also have to try and look in the eye and get along with, knowing they were party to who-knows-what the night before the wedding. Seems like a bunch of, "let's see if we can run this marriage off a cliff before it even gets off the ground" if ya ask me.

I'll pass on the bachelorette party with strippers, I think male strippers are silly anyways. The one time I went to a friend's party where there was one, I struggled not to laugh at the flopping banana hammock situation. Pretty sure my guy would be fine skipping all that too, and it won't be a problem unless his one friend tries to get involved. He does have a friend who would want very badly to make such an event happen. Hopefully we'll be living a few states away when the time comes that we get married...

I would not mind if we attended a cool burlesque show together though.

As for the wedding, I want to try and follow a few guidelines I've thought of...

- Not too expensive.
- Not boring.
- Not stressful.
- No uncomfortable shoes allowed.
