Or is it never justified?

Because I've seen people say it was based of the reasons I give in my poll.

It is not justified.

Humans are supposed to capable of making choices.

You choose to work on your current relationship or not.

You choose to end the relationship BEFORE seeing another person. Or you stay in the relationship, lie and deceive your SO, and cheat.

You chose to be in a committed relationship, but now don't want to be committed. (???)

People DO make mistakes (ONCE, maybe) when their head is up where the sun don't shine. If it is serial cheating, it isn't a mistake but rather a character flaw.

Never.

You can throw out all the excuses you want, but there is never an acceptable reason.

It's never justified. And cheating isn't just going out and having sex with someone. If one person spends 6 or 7 hours a day goofing off on line and then can't be an interactive partner with their spouse, it's cheating. If one person can't control their spending habits and can't work with in an agreed budget, it's cheating. If one person does something but can't share it with their partner because they wouldn't approve, it's cheating

It's never justified. Never. If you are unhappy, you should divorce/breakup first.

Divorce can happen, even from prison.
