Dated a girl at college for a short time. She came by my apartment one night for what I thought was something quite a bit better than reruns on TV. There is nothing to give you that "sinking feeling" than when she starts talking about her old boyfriend and their "first time".

Theres usually a reason people are professional downers. In Moms case it was because of her relationship with my Gram/her Mom and Gr Gram/her Gram. My Gram got married at 16 and had two kids. The marriage didnt last long and she went back home. There she reverted back to her place as youngest child. My Mom had to call her by her name. If she called her Mom she would get pissed. When Mom got older my Gram was jealous of her and acted like an older Sister. Even going so far as to flirt with any boys that came around. Its always been obvious my Uncle was Gram and Gr Grams favorite. Oh. And I had to call my Gram by her name too. Even in her eighties she would get pissed if I called her Gram in any form.

Its really sad. Her whole life my Mom was always looking for someone to just pay attention to her. But she drove people away with her constant complaining. They say you learn by example. What I learned from my Mom is that I didnt want to be like her. But I also learned sympathy and understanding for people like her. Now that doesnt mean Im gonna put up with it. But if I know were your coming from Ill cut you some slack. I have to be careful tho. I got so used to dealing with it that I sometimes tend to not really pay attention.

Thanks Jack!

Sorry....

As a matter of fact, we were chatting the other night over boilermakers. Ever since we met at Maxim magazine's offices (those fools double-booked us for the "Top 10 Living Legends of Sex" shoot! ) we've been in touch. He told me to apologize to you about Eleuthera - he also said if you go over to The Cove, it's a LOT less hectic.

I'm serious...

The Cove...Sheesh? Tell him to go over to the Cove, and not build his great big hotel and golf course.

That's exactly what I don't want, and why I went there, loved it so much. It used to be paradise to me....

yeah, well, money, always spoils the essense of a thing...you get loads of tourists! Ever since they reopened the Cove, it's been different, now this. Pretty soon, 10 Bay beach will be a hotel...it's really a shame.

Rainbow Inn was was my fav place to eat and drink and look out over the lagoon....now, it will be full of drunken idots and movie stars who think they're entitled.

It will be ruined! The essense of that pristine island wil no longer be.

Why doesn't he go down to crooked island and ruin it, and leave Eleuthera alone?

sorry for the rant...

Oh...sorry. In that case...

I'll get on my Taoist soapbox once again and say that change is the only constant in the universe. It does no good to fight it - you have to learn to go with it.

In your case, maybe you could investigate some of the other 699 islands to see if they meet your needs. It's a big world down there - chopped up into tiny little pieces...

Not at all.

Although I have to admit - even Jack got scared for a minute there...

don't you wink at me....all those other 699 islands are not Eleuthera! Telling me to go somewhere else, when that was my most fav place in the entire world....sheesh? and yeah, I know it's a big world down there...but he's hitting other islands as well....

Just shakin your tree
