I'm just curious to see how some married couples go about this.
I have a girlfriend who makes 80K and her hubby makes about 15-20K less, they own a home, two vehicles and have 2 kids (one is a newborn). Get this.. He pays ALL the bills and she saves hers. I was shocked!

I guess it works out well in a way because we are in a recession and saving is crucial.

We own our businesses together so WE pay the bills. My husband physically writes the checks or does the online banking...

See, the danger of separate checking accounts crops up. Eventually, that guy is going to sit up and say, "Wait a minute!"

Mrs. CPG pays the bills, given that she's a CPA with a master's in finance and is CFO for a large commercial real estate firm.

She does. I can't think of anything more boring than opening envelopes, ripping along the dotted lines, writing checks, licking, stamping...ugh...my eyes are already glazing over.

She thinks that's fun. But she's an MBA in accounting.

Well, I'm a believer that once you're married you share the bills and the money.
So I write the checks but it's our money.

LOL I know what you mean, I'm an online bill pay type of girl.

But what I meant was who actually pays.

I make right around 4x what Mrs. Rath makes... but there's no doubt she works harder for hers!!!

I pay most of the bills (house, car, insurance, utilities, etc.). We use her income for odds and ends (nights out, etc.) and food.
