Tall enough to drive a car without the air bag crushing you in an accident. Tall enough that you dont' have to shop in the petite department or the kids department.
A woman's height is not important at all to me. She can be anywhere from 4' 11" to 6' 5" and it wouldnt matter to me. However, her width is very important. If its easier to go over her than around her then we have a problem.
So what are you saying? What if her width is the same as her height?
I am 5'8 and I really like being 5'8. 5'6-5'9 seems ideal to me for looking good in clothes, which is my main criteria for ideal height.
How does height have anything to do with looking good in clothes? Because models are tall? That's only because, as you can see from this topic, most people find tallness attractive. That doesn't mean clothes look better on tall people, it just means the model themselves might be socially accepted as more attractive.
If you have a proportional body (ie, a healthy looking weight for your height) and you buy clothes that fit you the right way, you will look good in clothes. I'm 5ft and if you took a picture of me that had no indicators of my height (ie, not standing next to someone or any objects that would give away my height) you would not be able to tell what height I am - certainly my clothes would not give it away so I fail to see why height has anything to do with looking good in clothes. For this reason, catalogue models can actually be any height.
I know a lot of people find tallness attractive and that's fine to have a personal preference... but wow, there really is a lot of flat out discrimination in this topic. It's one thing to have a preference - it's another to basically say short people don't look good in clothes.
I've been at both spectrums. In high school I used to always be the shortest person around. People used to make fun of me and tell me to be careful on sidewalks so i wouldnt fall through a crack. ha ha but my senior year i must have eaten the right amount of veggies because i sprouted now im 5'8 ish (depending on the conveince store im entering ha ha ha) the first year or so was tough. I felt gangly and i was taller then most guys I knew. But once I figured out how to use my legs for days to my advantage i love it and would never want to be any shorter then i am! but I'll probably never date a guy my height or shorter. I have once and I didnt get that man feeling from him. I prefer my men at least 3 to 4 inches taller.

Women are so concerned with positions, and feeling like a 'woman' and feeling they are with a big, strong man.
No midgets for me, but a woman's height or exact weight is not a big deal for me. I know a beautiful woman when I see one.
