You are only going to get sex if she is into you and having a good time. If she doesn't see any possibility of you being around a week or so from now you don't have a chance. Most women like the courtship and want to be entertained by a potential mate. You are basically showing her a glimpse of what the special times are like with you. The sit on the couch dating comes a bit later when you are more interested in digging deeper and seeing if there really is something there.

Well I'm not a one night stand guy so I'm just saying if I'm going to be spending money then I should be having some kind of light makeout session that would not involve nudity of course.
Just go dutch on your dates and don't purchase her anything until you get 'super serious' with her.
Charm her, and make her laugh her pants off and then go out dancing. Let the night be fun and exciting. Dating should be fun not some tedious calculus exam.
