We all come across like a bunch of extroverts in this sub-forum. But what's the real deal? Yeah, people at work think I'm funny and outgoing. However, I like my own company an awful lot. I like a lot of quiet time and dislike crowds and/or crowded places.

So are you really an introvert masquerading as an extrovert? I'm becoming more and more of an introvert. What about you?

Kinda the opposite haha. I used to be an introvert, but I'm becoming more and more extroverted. This is through a concerted effort on my part. I've actually gotten to be well more social than the "average." That said, old ways die hard, and I'm still a bit nervous initially in large social situations, particularly around people I don't know. The key has been learning to shove those feelings aside, because they are mostly initial - by that I mean, once I'm engrossed in the activity, the nervousness subsides.

As for alone time, I enjoy it only very rarely. That said, I do like "low key" time quite a lot. I enjoy big group events, but I like a decent bit of socializing with a small group of close friends, or even one on one with a best bud. I think that small group / one on one time supplants my need for true alone time, particularly when its with someone I'm super close/comfortable with.

I'm just like you. I love and can be an extrovert (for limited amounts of time, though) with certain people (rare finds), but that's not my core.

I think both quite possibly could be tasty in a stew.

Oh, wait. This is the Relationship forum, not the Food one. Well, shoot, I still stand by what I wrote.

Default Introvert or extrovert?

I'm very much an extrovert, until it comes to meeting single women I'm interested in. The married ones can't understand why I have a problem.

I guess I should have seen a shrink years ago. I saw a lot of guys like me at university. Bad high school experiences, in my view.

I once read that 90% of our self-esteem has solidified by the time we finish high school. I hope not. I think I changed a lot, for the better, during college and during the time I entered the work force.
