Any woman who has been online dating for awhile can tell you the story of meeting a man whose profile, which said he was 6-feet tall, ended up being several inches short of the truth. And most men can tell you about the woman whose reality was about 10 years older than her online photos.

This is funny, I actually add an inch to my height on my online dating profile. I only did this because I am 5'8" and most women list 5'9" as their minimum height requirement. Most people think I'm at least 5'9" anyways, so what does it matter? I know she's not bringing a ruler with her so there's no way for her to tell for sure. It just allows me to be "matched" with more women, lol.

I couldn't lie about any of it for fear of seeing a shocked, disappointed look on their face finding out I look older than I claim to be (if I lied about my age, which I don't). When I tell my real age people don't believe I'm that old (I know, I saw that scathing post here about saying that the other day. pppffffffttttttttt! LOL) so in my case, honesty is the best policy. However, I don't do dating sites so it matters not. I'm just butting in.
Guy lies are simple.
I did x. Because of y. Instead of z.
Women lies?
Works of art.
She'll slip the lie in halfway through a web of mostly truths, and she'll then focus on the truths....defending her lie to the death.
It can take you months to figure it out.
You know, I've still never gotten a woman to admit that "I lied".
Whoever invented the concept of a white lie was a woman, I'm sure.
Men? 5 minutes of going over what they said and you start realizing that perhaps something isn't right..
If you ever intended on meeting the person I don't see what the point of lying is. Now they're just going to reject you in person if what you had online wasn't factual. waste of time.
