I want to know. And no, this has nothing to do with me in case some of you happen to wonder about the nature of my question.

I would LOVE to have the last name Cat..... haha kidding man!!

I wouldn't mind if an ex kept my name if she wanted to. Of course, she would change it when she got married to another man.

First, as a woman, I'd keep my own since I'm already established from it.

But this reminds me of when Ike and Tina turner met in court for divorce and she walked out with nothing as long as she could keep her name. He threw a fit, but she prevailed.

Then I was reading where Michael Jackson's grandfather's name on his mother's side had the name, "Prince Albert Screws" a name I would definitely not take. Katherine changed it to Scruse....but still.

It's not about "letting" them keep it, they have the legal right to keep it. You can't make them change it Mr. Cat.

Maybe....if I was the ONLY person in the world that had that name, I might complain......but I can't stop anyone from using it so........

guess what?
it's not a decision you get to make or have any say in whatsoever

she gets to decide on her name, not you
the very notion of what you "let her do" is arrogant, paternalistic, condescending, and insulting

any guy who thinks in those terms of what he "lets" her do,
is probably one of the many, many reasons she wants a divorce in the first place

you don't have a choice if your ex "keeps your name"
because it's "her name" not yours.

now I'm going to go heave
