Neither are preferable, because both wind up hurting others.

To me, somebody who prides themselves on being 'frank' is worthy of suspicion. Because, without exception, this is a person who lacks an intervening gear between her brain and her mouth, allowing her to say whatever hurtful nonsense enters her head and claiming it as a virtue.

Whatever happened to "honest but diplomatic"?

I read everyone's post so far. Majority bought interesting insights and/or angles to the threads...

Some scatter brain thoughts:

The number one show in the world is American Idol...If the honest and rude Simon left, would it still be as popular? Other shows have had success starting, seemed to start with the weakest link...Also, kids say the darnest things...
