So, all you married people... i have a question... how many times do you have to ask someone before the right one says yes?

And how'd you figure that whoever says "yes" is the right one? Once the wrong one says "yes," that's it. Or at least for the time being...

I am cornfused.

What, do you walk around the mall and just ask random people??

While I've never proposed to a woman, I'd imagine the couple in question had conversations about it, so the guy would have some inkling that she would say yes.

Don't get this silly ass thread.

If they say no, then you don't ask again.

Only once... Or at least, I hope only once.

Ask me again in a couple years and I'll let you know for sure.

In my 60+ years I've asked three times. The first said "yes" then dropped me while I was in the military. We recently reconnected after 43 years and it's probably a good thing she didn't follow through with marrying me.

The second said, "yes" and now, looking back, I wish she hadn't. Thankfully I'm no longer married to her.

The third also said "yes". That was 13 years ago and I'm glad she did. We're still married.

Hopefully 1 time only.

You should not ask a question where you do not already know what the answer will be. If you are unsure, you should not be asking.
