Because they can be arrested for stalking, just on the say so of a woman.
If a woman I work with commutes on the same bus I do, she can tell me to not ride on the bus that she gets on, nor to wait at the same bus stop, nor to walk behind her to the bus stop. If I do not completely reorder my entire life to walk from the office in a different direction and get on a different bus at a different bus stop, I can be arrested and forced hire a trial attorney to defend myself against a criminal charge of stalking.
That's why.
I have discussed exactly this scenario with shrill feminists, and they replied "What, you have a problem with that?"
Because dating is a pain in the tail. If we have immediate interest in you we'll ask. But if you want to be treated like you were in your 20s, we've got no time for that.
1. They're not interested enough to pursue her, but if she starts pursuing them, that's cool. They're not going to turn her down.
2. They're afraid of rejection. If they put the asking in your hands, they cannot openly get rejected.
3. They give out their number to many girls. It's kind of like throwing out many fishing lines.
4. They don't have the time. (Note: This is a RARITY. If a guy likes a girl, he will MAKE time.)
Agreed - especially with the bold. I must admit I have asked twice a few times in the past just to make sure I heard it right the first time...
Quick story. I asked this woman in my class I took years ago if she'd like to go out one of these days. She said she was engaged. I said, 'oh'. Then, a few days later I asked if she meant, "engaged as in to be married?".
The look on her face said, "Are you an idiot?!?"
Hey, I was 19/20 at the time.
(note to self: engaged means she's getting married)
What happened to "equality"? Is it only viable when it's in the woman's best interest?
