I was very surprised at how much my wife was interested in pro-rodeo when I first met her.......thank the Lord, I was in it! But, then again, the first time I met her she was wearing a cowboy hat, boots and Roper brand jeans. Boy was I impressed! I was wearing the same, except I was in Wrangler jeans. A short time later, I found out that she loved watching NFL.......AGAIN, thank you Lord!! Ten years later, the rodeo scene is gone (still have the hats/boots and jeans though), but we both love watching NFL, some PGA Tournaments, Winter Games/Olympic and sometimes a baseball game. Boy did we pick right (each other)!! She loves buzzing down a waterway in our boat, fishing and target shooting also. Not bad for a couple in their early 60's!!

A poster from another thread commented about the NASCAR Bud Shootout and the drivers pausing for a 10 min break, which would not happen if it were a points paying race, which highlights your point. It takes 4 hrs to play a 60 min game, that means 3/4 of the time nothing is happening.

I have no interest in Football whatsoever, sometimes I DVR the SuperBowl for the commercials and then ff through the game, this year I'll just watch them online.

Count me as one of those guys. I can't stand sports that are stop and go where there's a lot of dead time in between the action. Baseball's even worse. I'd rather watch something that keeps moving along like basketball.
