I lived alone for so many years...And, the absolute freedom was what I really enjoyed.
Not having to pick up a phone every time I decided to go someplace after work, or simply getting up in the morning and deciding myself what I was going to do that day.
Was I lonely?...Not at all.
But, now I am living with and taking care of someone (who's ill) - And, at this point of my life, it's no big deal....I have to go home everyday to prepare dinner, and there are the problems and accidents that happen because of her condition...But, so what?
Staying home with my kids. No, I wouldn't give that up. They would always come first.
The other thing is running. Yes, I'd give it up for some compelling reason (can't imagine what that could be though!) for love. Although I'd probably start to go crazy and drive him mad if I wasn't running....
I gave up my life in CA. I think that was HUGE! I also gave up my job for 2 years but I can't take it anymore so I am heading back to work in the fall.
hmmmmmm what would I give up? You mean that I already haven't?
It is my opinion that women give more of themselves then men do. We move where our husband's can get a better job, we put our careers on hold, ect...
Of course this is just my experience...
What I would give up now? You mean something that I do everyday? Oh I could give up laundry, doing dishes, dusting, oh you mean something that I like doing, ha ha. I could give up drinking diet coke. (That's a big one for me)
I gave up my FREEDOM! Every day I wonder if I should stay in the marriage and make it work or if I should just make that big break. If not for the children, I would have, without question, bailed out a lomg time ago.
The one thing I will absolutely NOT give up for anything or anybody is dance. I compete in ballroom and it is my life. It is the one thing that keeps me sane. My husband DID ask me to give it up and all hell broke loose, so he knows better than to get on me about that.
