Honestly, if you're in HS and she's not someone you hang out with regularly anyway, just be honest. It'll suck for a few days but she'll get over it more easily (this is coming from personal experience) if you just say that you think she's nice, but you just don't click in "that way." Be nice, be polite, and bring Kleenex just in case, but don't string her along. That is the worst thing you can do.
