I dated a guy who was a bit like this, unfortunately I realised it only after, having spent difficult years trying to work things out.

It's good you have listened to your gut feeling and acted on it. Stay away from uncommitted, aloof, selfish people.

I only realised after, and well done on realising before, as you've saved yourself a huge amount of hassle and grief.

Find someone who is appreciative of you, knows what they want, and is ready to commit.

Thanks Sunflower. good tips all. I ran into her or actually she saw me at REI this last weekend. Came right up to me. We exchanged pleasantries and then she was off. I was left again with the twilight theme in the background.....
