I decided to bump this thread several months into my transition. I know there are a lot of horrible and ignorant comments here, but also some very open minds. I am not ready to date yet, but without sounding narcissistic in any way I am not only passable, but I have been chatted up and even hit on by seemingly straight men (I never looked masculine to begin with).
So any fresh opinions here? I want to pose this question to regular cisgender people and please if you have nothing to say but hurtful comments please just ignore this and move on.
Sorry you had to put up with those comments Amy. They are pretty disillusioning. C-D relationships section where I go to lose faith in humanity.
Personally, as a cis male, I would date a transgendered person. And I'd be willing to do that whether they had the surgery or not.
I'm bisexual though so it's not much of an issue. Considering how many cis-straight women would turn me down over that, I know how painful it is to be rejected for something that shouldn't matter.

I can relate to being bi. I consider myself pansexual actually, but at some point I would like to try dating men. I would prefer to ask such questions in a regular forum like this despite the fact that there has been lots of flack and comments about it being "disgusting" or "gross" (as if any of us can help the way we're born).
Anyways thanks for your words of encouragement. It means a lot. And of course I believe in full disclosure with regard to my former gender. You don't have to apologize for other people's ignorance either. It's still a big taboo unfortunately.
This is ridiculous. Dont bump a thread soliciting peoples personal preference and expect them to be dishonest about their likes/dislikes. I would never consider dating anyone other than a natural born woman (as in female at birth). So get over it, if that isnt the response you were looking for...

I'm just looking for general feedback. I only asked if people could refrain from being nasty about it.
Well thanks for the input so far. A resounding hell no seems to be the general consensus. I always knew this would make finding a partner very challenging indeed.
