Perhaps because it is nothing but a myth...I thought you told me more than once that you don't believe in such things. Have you changed your mind?
The Holy Spirit is religious speak for the consciousness of God . . . so no . . . I haven't changed my mind. There is nothing supernatural about it at all. It is the universal field.

Well I think that until there is evidence of your universal field I will call it what it is....Supernatural.
It never ceases to amaze me how many of these forums quickly digress into God-cursing, Christian-bashing, self-as-god-promoting rants. But there are some incontrovertable truths, regardless of what people claim:
1). The man who says in his heart, 'there is no god' ... is a fool.
2). God has revealed himself throughout all of creation and nature.
3). God has created every person with an inborn knowledge of his eternal power and deity,
.... so that those who suppress these truths, are without excuse.
4). Ultimately, everyone (from the ancients on) knows that there is more to life than this world and life -- Try to imagine your own death ... as other than a spectator!
All of these are Biblical truths, but I didn't bother quoting references, since those to whom this is addressed will immediately renounce any belief in such 'fairy tales.' BUT, you know the truth in your heart ... and will be ultimately accountable for it before the GOD whom you now curse (that is, unless you open your eyes, mind and heart to a God and truth beyond your own opinions. By the way, how is that 'self-god' thing working out for you in your life?
That's the only part you got right because outside of the bible, it's all nonsense.
The funny thing is your first sentence and the irony that comes across from it. But your fundamentalist mind probably can't see it.
Are you saying that the holy spirit is parasitic? Where inside you does it live, and how can you get rid of it, so you can be cured?
Although I hesitate to give any response to this ridiculous/insulting analogy you're certainly aware that organisms can live in a symbiotic relationship. There are bacteria in your body you need for digestion. So even if one must make some spurious biological analogy parasitism doesn't have to be the "go to" analogy.
If it is a "go to" analogy for a person that just speaks to their hostility, rather than simple disbelief as I've noticed only a few people here have simple disbelief, in Christianity. Which is not something I relate to of course. I have many flaws, but I do not have that kind of hostility to Buddhism, Jainism, Shinto, Shamanism, Sikhism, or what have you that many atheists here have to Christianity.

The evidence is legion . . . it is what enables science to exist and our knowledge of the universe to be possible. The only thing missing is the Source of the field.

No sense of humor? It was a joke. I'm an equal opportunity skeptic. I treat all superstitions the same, and I wouldn't call it hostile...More like incredulous.
