Another convenience is the way you advanced an argument, then killed it off in only two sentences. Very high grades for verbal efficiency!

I for one would MUCH rather see us rationally limit our population growth so we can eat what we want to. Sorry, everyone, but catman is an unrepentent carnivore. Besides, if we don't stop population growth now, why should we be able to do so more easily later? We'll have to sooner or later, even if we're all living on algae. Besides that, most other animals on the planet will be gone (many already are), and I like wilderness!

Predictions are for 9,000,000,000 by 2040. By then we will already have exhausted many resources and others will be getting slim...one might speculate "Too Late."

There is an old Cree Prophecy; When all the trees have been cut down, when all the animals have been hunted, when all the waters are polluted, when all the air is unsafe to breathe, only then will you discover you cannot eat money.

Humans are number one by virtue of their unsurpassed ability to reason, self awareness, and contemplation of past present future and all ramifications thereof. Such attributes are considered special. In fact, efforts are made to contact others who might share them on some other world.

God didn't create the animals so they could serve as food for mankind.

It would be interesting (maybe) to hear why you think they were created.
You or any other Christian, in fact.
Man was supposedly created in order to worship and adore (or not)
Other animals?

So proclaims the guy who claims fish, reptiles, pigs and monkeys as ancestors, who thinks life springs abracadabra out of puddles of muddy water, who believes in the billions totally mindless, happy, joyously fortuitous, accidents theory.
