I hear a lot of prophesed Christians talk about other Christians, examining their hearts, and doubting that they are "saved" when they see and can identify sin and anti-Christian behavior in their lives.
For instance, there was a recent thread where someone said that their Christian husband cheated and left her for a woman who was "more Christian."
Consensus of other Christians was that this guy was a fraud, or a phony, because he did something like that.
YEs, that was extremely unrighteous and unChristian to do.
However, on the flip side, every Christians knows they fall short of God's perfection and will always struggle with sin and remaining righteous, falling short.
So what is the difference of someone who is a Christian and struggles and falls short committing unrighteous acts at times, vs someone who is just a "fraud"?
I find it hard to see the difference...
In my estimation, the most Christian of people are those who admit they sin and do not pretend to be righteous, showing what hypocrites they are.

Hello,
I believe a true Christian would come under conviction by God. Meaning you may sin, but you detest/ahore that sin. You would seek forgiveness from God, and from those whom you have hurt. You would admit that what you did was wrong, and truely ask for forgiveness. That to me would mark the difference between those who are true followers of Christ and those just giving it lip service when it comes to sin.
(On an unrelated note, I haven't posted on this forum in AGES!!! I feel like I just discovered on old favorite toy again. Now I got to remember how all this posting stuff works LOL. I've completly forgot how to do some stuff on here. LOL)

I think a lot of people get converted to the religion--and the whole act/show of living a certain life. They like going to church, like the fellowship, and feeling good inside from being religious. Unfortunately, that doesn't change the individual inside and when push come to shove they live like they want to. We call them false converts.
A real Christian has a relationship with Christ. In time he'll be proven as a true believer, or as a false convert. Yes, Christians do blow it sometimes. Our greatest Biblical heroes prove that to be true--but by and large a changed life over time shows them to be true. A true believer would stay with his wife. We are commanded in scripture to love our wives. Your personal feelings are irrelevant.
A very basic value is to not kill other humans, and yet one god had no problems wiping out humans by the boatload. So, extreme phoniness goes to the very top.
Atheists hear this one all the time, it's old and busted. Anyone using it as an argument can be immediately dismissed as clueless.
