The truth is often told in jest.
I look at this post as a comment to ponder over not so much to comment on.

Reason: I’ve notice this style of speech with us Theravada and apparently with Tibetan Buddhism. Not so much with Zen.
If religious folks are so concerned with the afterlife and this life is meaningless...then the best solution would for them to kill themselves so they can get to that magical afterlife sooner
Interesting statement Kerby, makes one stop and think about what is important in one's life.. Is defending ones belief worth the life of another? I don't think so. Mainly because I believe that everyone has the right to believe what they will and just because I don't agree with anothers belief does not give me a reason to take that individual's life and hopefully that individual feels the same towards me.
Most religions have no problem with killing others, particularly those who don't believe in the same God or gods.
