"First Baptist" usually means the first Baptist church that was in that community. Or first Presbyterian. or first whatever. If a second Baptist or Presbyterian or Methodist or whatever comes to town, that might be the "Second xxxxxxx". You can have 9 different "First" churches if they are different "kinds" or denominations.
The church I pastor is "First Community Church". To be honest...we are the ONLY church in town. But we are the first church of our "kind".
