When will the ignorance end? You can't learn the history of the Middle East without learning about Islam!!!!! Why do so many religious want to keep their kids ignorant? Why?
Newsflash to these parents - aspects of religion are inherently aspects of certain history subjects history.
Study of the Crusades or the Reformation, subjects certainly relevant to general European history, are going to delve somewhat into the nature of Christianity.
Twentieth Century history - be it World War II in Europe and the Holocaust, or the modern Middle East and the formation/presence if Israel, is going to be in part an examination of Judaism.
The same is true for Islam, whether the history subject is the Crusades or the Caliphate of Cordoba in much of what is now Spain and Portugal to modern conflicts in the Balkans or those based in the Shia-Sunni split. If these parents think that's tantamount to "teaching Islam", then they're idiots.

Likewise, You can't learn the history of America without learning about Christianity!!!!!. But that doesn't keep the atheist's heads from exploding whenever a Bible is seen anywhere near a school.

So. What does that have to do with the bible. The history class discussed said nothing about the koran, all it said the issue of muslims will be discussed.
