No where in the Bible does it say when Jesus is returning.
It does not give a specific date and that is justified under the "no man knows the day nor the hour" argument, however, it gives more than enough hints concerning the era when it should have occurred. It's actually right there in black and white over and over again.

I believe those hints are there to prepare us as the time grows closer. When the time is right Jesus will return for His children and I'm ready.

I don't think so ILNC, IMHO. The hints I speak of are not the signs, but the period of time it should have happened.
The very first verse of the Book of Revelation is a clear indication. The writer claims he is receiving his message directly from Jesus and he is "inspired" to write about "things" that were "shortly to come to pass." He wrote his book to the Christians of his day to churches existing at that time. In addition, he has Jesus saying in a few occasions "behold I come quickly."

Soon and quickly mean at any moment, we must be ready and prepared for His return. I think it's more important to be ready than to be concerned about why He hasn't returned yet.

'Soon and quickly' gives a time frame. In ANY conversation, the person hearing that is under the impression the speaker means any minute now AFTER the initial speaking of these words. 2000 years and counting is just a little too long a time, don't you think?

No I don't. 2 Peter 3:8-9 "But you must not forget dear friends, that a day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn't really being slow about His promise to return, as some people think, no He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so He is giving more time for everyone to repent".
