And this is one reason why I can not call myself a Christian according to others' standards,
because I simply do not trust the Bible's scribes or translators
or the memories of others, whatever.
I, personally, do not believe Jesus said that or certainly was misinterpreted.
He would know no one is ever ''condemned''.
That's crazy talk.
To those that believe the Bible is factual and accurate, are thinking I am being
hugely blasphemous now...not so...
I, in turn, can think they are being blasphemous
thinking still there is some 'wrathful Divine, Holy Father'.
To truly know Him, is to know He is nothing but pure love, period.
There is no room for these concepts of condemnation within Him.
Well, maybe people who think one must believe in Jesus and everything the bible says about him to be "saved" from God's wrath, could be called Jesusites.
Since the word "Christ" isn't the name of a person, but an anointing (with the spirit of love and power), maybe people like you, Ms. H, could retain the label Christians. Or, even Jesusite Christians, if you have a particular affinity for Jesus.
I am always amazed that Christians say that God's love is unconditional when so many scriptures say otherwise. I am going along with the belief that God's love is truly unconditional and anything in the Bible that says otherwise, it is garbage, was added to the Bible, etc.

A lot of people do that kind of thing. As an engineer, it looks to me like "cherry-picking the data." But then again, the bible doesn't exactly count as "data" in the first place, so what the hey?

Haha, had a thought people that are now called Christians could be called Constantines or Le Nicenes...as followers of the Nicene Creed...or Jamers, haha since they love King James' Bible
so much.
Any one thinking the Bible has not been altered need only go to Psalm 46 KJV ONLY!...count
down 46 words and then up 46 words to find the 2 words 'shake spear'...James' homage to
his buddy William Shakespeare, 46, when James wrote out his VERSION of the Bible....
Note:
A VERSION is not a translation, to whom it may concern.
I always get a chuckle out of the idea that human beings are upset that God has freedom to save the ones he wants to save. I bet you're a Democrat, aren't you? You think it's unfair to let some get saved but not all? That everyone must be treated the exact same?
I bet that chuckle would only last as long as you can tell yourself that you're one of the favoured ones.

I like it, but let's make that the 'Nice Constants'. That sounds a lot better.

I call that wisdom and discernment...throwing out the chaff.
As far as 'cherry picking'...better than eating all the cherries...rotten ones and all!

I agree but for different reasons. he would no sooner condemn you as you would condemn a 3yr ld than just dropped the glass of milk. But that man can, and should police his own with the knowledge that god gave him. A concentration of 100% love is not the way things work. Its impossible. But a 100% focus on teaching and learning will bring love in to your view.

Not always, but the KJV was - wasn't it? I'm sure they went back to the Greek and the Hebrew. Now, considerable attention was given to the elevated and even poetical language and there may even have been word puzzles of the kind you mention, and some have regarded KJV as not too reliable a translation. But translation it is, nevertheless, and an original one. As indeed are many versions, whereas a Version I would expect to be just a rewriting from a translation it a more convenient language.
