They were large people. That's it. They were human beings that grew large. Maybe a pituitary disorder...maybe just large people. Maybe the genetic trait for gigantism eventually got weeded out in the human race for the most part.
NO, that is not what Genesis 6:4 says at all. It is rather specific how the Nephilim came about. Are you saying the bible should not be taken literally?

It says the "sons of God" married the daughters of men. It does not say angels mated with humans and made half-breed babies. The question is what the "sons of God" are. Nowhere else in Scripture does it suggest they are angels. Nowhere else does it talk about them being demons. On the other hand, it wasn't uncommon for "sons of God" to refer to men who worhiped God.

There are at least some Christian sites that beg to differ with your version of this:

I mean, a fundie has to draw a line in the sand somewhere, right?
I've never suggested that natural selection can't happen. It's for the same reason that people from a specific area of the world all share common traits. It's why Nordic people are of the same white white skin color (my wife is Danish) and it's why other people from Africa are dark. It's genetics. The human race is probably a lot taller now than it was in Jesus' time. Maybe there were giants living in Noah's time, before and after.....and gradually humans shrunk after people carrying the gene died off.

I've never suggested I disagree with a Mormon based on the story of the Nephilim and Noah. Perhaps you're misunderstanding me.
There are some things that are essential. Katzpur would happily tell you that I'm not a mormon--because there are esseential beliefs one must hold to be called a mormon. Why in the world would it not work the other way?

There's no misunderstanding on my part - despite your weasel words.
You have very often stated that Mormons aren't Christian.
