If God is in this for victory then the opposition will fail and be gone , and masses of people in that area will be converted to Jesus Christ and the government would not be able to stop it ................. But if there is lack in intersession to God and divisions against people which gives the devil authority then it will be short lived

Is it any wonder atheists speak out? I'd like to see a Scientologist principal get away with this.

Ridiculous. The school board is siding with this guy? Remind me to stay out of Bossier Parrish. I would hate to see what these nutballs would do to a student who rallied against this crap.

Dear Religious Folks,

Keep your religion out of our public schools. If you want to preach to students, teach at a CHRISTIAN school. This isn't forcing you to hide that you are a Christian like all you nuts seem to think. It is forcing you to respect the students at your school. It is forcing you to respect the laws of the land. You disgust me.

Sincerely,

Everyone not a fundie nutjob

Referring to Bible believing Christians as nutjobs shows me that you can't respect other people's beliefs either. It's a two way street, you know.

I never said "Bible believing Christians". Regular, down home, Christians don't act like this. I am speaking of the nutjobs like the people involved in this story. Just because you believe in God doesn't give you special privileges. I know YOU think it does/should, but it doesn't. The nut jobs are the ones who try to force their religion down everyone's throat.

Point being, I am not referring to your everyday Christian. I am referring to the fundies like the ones in the story that this thread brought to us.

You need to understand the reason behind the 1st amendment. "Congress shall make no laws respecting the establishment of religion........."

If you read the reasoning behind this it boils down to this: The Federal government will NOT supply federal taxpayers tax monies to support any religion.

This doesn't mean that the federal government is against religion, it means that in supporting a religion with taxpayers monies is, in essence, establishing a religion.

Seeing how this school in question is a PUBLIC school and supported by federal dollars gained from the taxpayer, this school is NOT allowed to ESTABLISH a religion. By forcing the students to acquiesce to the public schools concept of religion and offering no alternative is by all accordance establishing a religion, to say the least as misuse of public funds.

To understand the reason for this, you must know history. Many people came to the colonies from Europe because they were taxed to support state-sponsored religions. Many of these people were supporting religions other than their own.
