The only people who get upset at my posts are fundies. Whoop-dee-diddly-doo.
And I will never stop. That's a promise.
hypocrisy.
Around here, you're in the majority. As long as you say what people like to hear, you get away with it. But it's amazing how the crowd tends to put down those that aren't popular.

You're unpopular for many reasons. All of which have merit and none of which have to do with me.
It's a good job those that fought to abolish slavery and a thousand other unjust laws and practices didn't think like you.
It really just depends on the times, public sentiment at any given time.
Today we celebrate those who fought to end slavery, but when they started this campaign, they were likely hated and despised by most people for their views, same thing is true of martin luther king, many hated him, considered him to be a trouble maker, of course, no one thinks that today...times have changed, public opinion has changed.
More recently, gay couple were hated and despised, no tv network or movie would depict them in a positive way, it was even illegal, that all changed and today we celebrate those that were willing to stand up and be hated in order to change peoples minds.
Jesus warned us, we would be hated, tortured, arrested, imprisoned, etc, all due to his name, so in order for so many other people to hate us, we would have to be saying and doing things very unpopular and maybe even illegal at the time.

Exactly...that's what I said...as opposed to the suggestion that we should not try to convince others that they are wrong.

Rather....it was the anonymous authors of the gospels who claimed that was said.

Honestly you need to start thinking through things before you post.
People who come onto a non-sectarian website to discuss religion expect to hear about religion.
The post is really talking about other situations where Christians or others who believe in God think they can get a captive audience to espouse their beliefs. The moron who knocks on the door with his pamphlets. The "preacher" on public property haranguing people and threatening them with hell and damnation. That's shoving it down people's throats. That's what this is really about.

And you're "popular" among some people for the same reason. But that has nothing to do with personality of you or me, and has more to do with the atmosphere around this board.
I think everyone realizes your "target", as you say, is anyone that disagrees with you.
