Wrong again, Pastor.

They are being compassionate and demonstrating love and respect for their fellow beings.

Something dark-spirited, fundie Pastors in backwater parsonages can't seem to wrap their tunnel-visioned minds around or open their shriveled hearts to.

Your loss.

Have any BBQ pork lately? Or a few center cut chops?

How about blending material in your garment?

How was that last surf & turf?

So everything listed in the old law is "considered sinful?"

Or is it just certain things>?

Would you allow someone with a tattoo to teach Sunday school at your parish?

It is always funny to watch a conservative Christian talk about the Mosaic Law no longer applying because of Christ ( it doesn't according to orthodox Christianity ) , but then these same people are the ones who get bent out of shape when the 10 Commandments ( the first part of the Mosaic Law that we are told no longer applies ) are removed from government places , and are the first ones to run to the Mosaic law ( which we were previously told no longer applied ) when defending the death penalty , which has NO support in the New Testament , yet has nearly 100% support among conservative Christianity.

Consistent they are not. Its why you can never pin them down when discussing the Bible. They pick and choose at will what they wish to believe in and what doesn't apply anymore without any rhyme or reason, simply their desires on what to and not to believe.

Default When should it be allowable to use relgion as a reason to not to have to obey laws

I am at a loss to think of a circumstance when that would be appropriate. This thread has not been helpful in that regard either.

Love it. I'm actually doing the Atkins Diet right now. I've dropped 22 pounds the last month eating pork chops and sausage from the hog I butchered in November. Good stuff.

You should realize though, that God specifically gave instruction for us to be able to eat what we want. I'm not a Jew living in ancient Israel, or wandering in the desert.

There is a difference between the moral, civil, and ceremonial law. The issue of dress was the civil law, and is not in effect any more because the Jewish civil government ceased. One needs to recognize that in order to understand the context of the Mosaic Law.

Of course. I have a few myself.

It's interesting that you claim to know God's will, yet you argue against the Bible. How do you know God's will? Because you just know? And why should I believe you over anyone else? Why is your opinion any more valid than anyone else's?

This is your favorite stupid question to which you pretend that your Bible is an answer. It isn't. Christ abides with us so we do not need anyone to teach us. We ask the Comforter sent in Christ's name to guide us to the truth God has "written in our hearts" under the New Covenant. You do NOT. That is why you miss the truth and perpetuate ignorance and superstition "written in ink" by our primitive ancestors. You deny what your heart would tell you if you sincerely asked instead of overriding it with your "precepts and doctrines of men" in your dogma. You tread a very dangerous path, Vizio.

Good questions, Vizio.

Same questions I'm going to ask you, right now.

Of course. I have a few myself.
So in reality, the OT LAW is absolutely and COMPLETELY MEANINGLESS to us today--EVERY SINGLE WORD..
