You KNOW what you believe is just thoughts, not knowledge... right? (bible, faith)

If I believed there was nothing out there, I probably wouldn't be so honest when I get too much change. A few months ago, I bought about $400 worth of stair parts for my new railing in my house. As soon as I left, I realized that the girl didn't even ring up an entire batch of stuff that cost over $100. I was in the car and thought that maybe God was testing me to see if I was honest enough to return them. I was really sick and it was 9pm and raining and just went home. It ate at me for weeks. A month later, I returned them. The cashier offered me a store credit because I had no receipt. I told her there was no receipt because I didn't pay for them. She looked at me like I was nuts.
So what you are saying here is that the only reason you behave honestly is because you believe that your god is watching you...and if you didn't think there was any god, you would be a thief, a liar and an all-round bad egg. That's not the sort of thing I'd care to advertise lad. What a dreadful confession to make.... I'm only a decent person because I think my god is watching me.'
I once didn't get charged for a battery in the supermarket. I noticed when I got home and then drove back 12kms to pay for it. I did that because I'm honest, not because I was afraid that some mythical being would kick my arse if I didn't.

MY religion was the reason why I returned them.
With me it was basic decency.
Interesting that you start off saying... 'my religion doesn't have any effect on what to think.' and then contradict yourself by saying ... 'MY religion was the reason why I returned them.' You appear to be somewhat confused old chap!

You are clearly somewhat confused!

I only go to church occasionally but by feeling the guilt and returning the merchandise that I did not pay for is the honest thing to do, religion or not.
Yet you say that it was your religion that prompted you to go back and pay.... ...and even then it took you a month!
Let's make it a bit more easy, and take the word "belief" out of it bothers you that much.
Is Atheism a thought or knowlege?
Simple enough?
Let me rephrase to show you the problem...
Atheism = lack of belief in a god.
So, "Is the lack of belief in a god a thought or a knowledge?"
And the answer is, neither! There is no claim to either believe there is no god or to know there is no god, there is simply a lack of both regard the positive existence of god. I don't think there is a god, I don't know there is a god, I don't believe there is a god.
The reason you can't get a "straight" answer is that it is a dishonest question.

Once a fundie gets an idea, they can't let go, no matter how delusional is.
