Just as happy and worthwhile childhood as my atheist children and grandchildren. We recognize there is only one life, and have everything to LIVE for, whereas you have nothing to live for but everything to DIE for.

In the end, we will all be wormfood.

I Raise My Child In An Atheist Atmosphere

Wouldn't it be wonderful if ALL parents stopped indoctrinating their children, and wait until they were mature and could make their own decisions?
Now if only something can be done about the baby penis mutilations.

Yup. My grandchildren are at least the fourth generation in my family not so mutilated.

If they were told there IS no God, they were mutilated indeed.

This parent said God is just a fake story. That is a statement of truth
on an impressionable mind which conveys authority the parent does
not rightfully possess. It is abuse.

By your own standards, it is no better than saying God is true.

I have no problem with the parent who says, "I don't know", or
"you'll think about that when you get older", or whatever, but
the parent who tells their young child there IS no God is a monster.

No hyperbole in your utterances, huh?

And why is the parent who tells his or her young child that they will endure eternal burning, and create visions in young, impressionable minds of those horrors, NOT a monster? All research shows that well into adulthood that the impact of cult indoctrination can and does have large, residual and negative effects.

No this parent did not. She stated that it is what some people believe, but not all. An entirely factual statement. And if she does not believe, she should not lie about it.

If beliefs about god and belief in god are all that compelling then they have nothing to fear in the marketplace of ideas -- god will win out easily.

Here again ... what is stated as true is not a knowledge claim about god, but that some people believe in various stories about god and some believe different stories or not at all. That is entirely factual. Do you dispute that? Do you fear it? If so, why?

Am I missing something here? Where is this knowledge claim the mother was making?

This sounds very much like words that believers often put in atheist's mouths. Like most atheists I can't prove or disprove an unfalsifiable proposition such as the typical invisible personal interventionist deity, and I don't attempt to. I decline to believe the positive truth claims of any theism I've yet encountered, because I see no good reason to afford belief to them.

When my children were in their formative years I still believed, but if I had not believed, I would have been just as forthright with my own thoughts as I was when I believed. I see no reason to disparage a parent for forthrightly explaining their belief or lack of belief when their child asks them about it.

What strikes me is the threat level of folks like you over this. Why are you at "defcon one" about it? It is as if a child had asked you if you believe the earth orbits the sun, or the inverse, and you're objecting that someone tells their child they feel the preponderance of evidence is with the earth orbiting the sun. And your believe that the sun orbits the earth is threatened by this ... because ... why exactly? If the evidence is in your favor, what are you afraid of? And if it's not ... why are you doing YOUR child a disservice to "protect" them from contrary information?

Just go to any supermarket checkout line and look at the subject matter.
I promise you, people would still be reading the old stuff, watching the
old stuff, and THINKING the old stuff - but when you make dumpster drivel
most readily available to the masses, they will consume it to some degree.

This has nothing to do with profits. Understand they OWN ALL THE MONEY
and distribute the money to medias which promote their AGENDA. These
companies just keep changing hands over and over again and bankruptcies
are filed, and companies are bought out, and assets are dispersed among
the chosen ones who operate like an entertainment mafia.

Don't be so naive. If you agree with this transformation of society,
then say so. Say it's ok to cheat on your husband, remarry, teach
your daughter to be a hussy and teach her there is no God, and
your grandchildren to explore homosexuality.
Well guess what, it doesn't matter what you teach her, because
she's going to find out who the liar was sooner or later.
"They OWN ALL THE MONEY" Please explain your post, who owns all the money?

He won't say it in an open forum.

But we know who he means.

Do you have a shaved head, Snowball?
