If you mean "God" as in Jehovah/Allah type God...and "angels" as the winged people and chubby flying naked babies....there is actually no such thing as any of that. They are metaphorical characters in ancient stories.
The "angels" opposing "God" in the stories...well, that was the writers choice how it went. The stories tell of various "disputes"...just read them with focus, you'll see.

I think the dispute was concerning which end of the egg to crack open after God invented chickens on earth. God and his angels said it was the blunt end. Lucifer and his guys thought it should be the other end.

Personally, I appreciate you answering so Swiftly, but the real reason is that the makers of the Hebrew creation myth had to make up SOME reason for the presence of evil in the world.

Heaven isn't all it's cracked out to be. pun intended.
Judaism -> God's angels don't oppose him, he controls both the good ones and the bad ones as judged by us.
Christianity -> God planned for angels to have free-will and oppose him, but didn't create us as angels because he didn't care to.
Islam -> God's angels can never oppose him, He created them without free-will. Genies (jinn) and humans have free-will and thus can do evil such as "opposing" God.
Zoroastrianism -> Angels opposing God are deluded divas, but since nothing bad can come from good, evil and good must be "twin" eternal spirits, except that if there can only be one creator, then that creator was only good, so who knows why it created and allows evil.

Why is there such doubt amongst these questions in the Religion and Spirituality forums?
The most famous angel of all was probably Lucifer. He had the sins of pride and vanity; He wanted to be above God. He ultimately rebelled, and took 1/3 with him (yes, there are angels in hell, akin to demons etc, those that oppose God; The Devil has power, though those that invoke Jesus, he can bind them.)
This is all Basic Christianity 101; The New Testament verifies and fulfills the old. Biggest difference: Old Testament, spoke directly to Abraham and Moses etc; New Testament, appeared Jesus, fulfilling all these things that were prophesied.
If you read it, the Jews questioned him extensively and he passed every attempt at logic disproof they conjured.
Some choose not to conform to a moral code, and, sure, most of us are guilty of not believing the world was made in 7 days, etc. (Science vs religion. We hear Evolution. And no longer believe the Bible.) For this, watchh Kent Hovind.....
