I just heard this sentence...Peter, who walked with Jesus for 3 years changed completely
in one day when the Holy Spirit showed up.
Any personal stories?
Not ideas, not concepts, not quotes, nor speculations, not guessing...any personal stories you
have encountering the Holy Spirit?
(I have too many to tell...and I already have told many here. This isn't about my stories.)

Id like to hear some of your stories Miss H. Did you know epiphany literally means manifestation of Christ? It must be a fairly common experience.

* I've had 2 epiphanies and both dealt with me backing myself into a situation I couldn't get out of then suddenly seeing the answer crystal clear. Like, duh just walk the hell out of here and don't look back crystal clear. Those both felt like I was shot up with Adrenalin and my perspective changed in an instant. One of those felt like I was lifted up above the clouds, could see the entirety of the situation, and put back down whole. The other was like watching a movie of my life unfold before my eyes.

*I've had a feeling of acceptance wash over me and heal me. That one I actually felt a spirit. I was beating myself up and something just snapped and I was shown I was forgiven. Actually shown that there was nothing I needed to be forgiven for is closer to the experience.

*I've been given numerous signs that I am loved and worthy when I believed the lie that I was not. This wasn't a momentary thing like the other experiences. This was like playing a game where clues where embedded in my environment and I had to put the puzzle together. This went on for a few weeks until I did a Google search. I can still do it if I want which is good because it's a nice place to visit....

Great stories! Thanks Lategreat! I'll tell ya what...if it gets slow on the thread i might tell a story or two.

Washed over is a common description, swept over...a breeze passing through you...
actually pushing you back a bit...
And, No I didn't know the actual def of epiphany.
For decades I have called my experiences Divine Visitations...cuz, that is what they are! Whew...❤️

Epiphanies I've had. They mainly had to do with knocking the wind out of my religious beliefs (of a God of wrath and vengeance and punishment, of humanity as miserable and worthless and deserving of ending up in an eternal cosmic fiery garbage dump like filthy ol' used up rags, and of books written by people being basically equivalent to God). Those epiphanies ranged from quite uncomfortable to excruciatingly painful at the time, but spiritually healing and freeing in the long run. There have also been more personal "epiphanies", some of which were emotionally healing (or led to emotional healing), similar, it seems, to L8.

It didn't really feel personal though. It felt like it was just something like sunlight moving across the landscape and I just happened to get caught in it and then it was gone.

And yet you claim to be an atheist?

I believe there to be a logical explanation for this. I understand why this is proof to some I just don't agree. It doesn't mean they are wrong and I'm right or vice versa. We share common experiences and that's what I'm interested in not who has the interpretation right.

Is this something you feel like sharing more specifically about? (Totally understand if the answer to that is no.)

I don't really know how to condense it but basically if you've ever heard of synchronicity it's like that. I must have a creative streak I don't know about because it's reminds me of being inside of a living, breathing story. Almost like in Hansel and Gretel get out of the woods by following the white stones. One thing goes with another, then those things form a message and it points the way out. It's pattern recognition for fun.

To me, the Holy Spirit is what the Catholics decided to rename the Holy Ghost in the late 50s or early 60s.

I suspect the popularity of the Casper cartoons was a factor but the nuns I asked in school denied it.
