It is very simply caring about how others feel, not just yourself.

But that does NOT mean always putting others before yourself. You try to balance everything.

And it does NOT mean caring equally about every living creature. Well, in some religions it does, but that's crazy. We care most about people closest to us, and our animals. We care less about strangers. We care even less about enemies or criminals who want to kill us.

The only moral compass I have is I try to treat people the way I'd want to be treated. That's about it.
