While I love Christian-inspired art, architecture, and music (Mozart’s Requiem being my favorite), my true favorite is the King James Bible. I know not whether it is accurate in translation and certainly don’t believe it’s the word of any deity, But never mind; I find the language inspiring and beautiful in many ways, in many places. It remains a bedrock of our language, 416 years later.

Yes. And such as we all WERE. Ephesians 2:4 says that we were children of wrath, as all men were. You should read the REST of Ephesians 2, as well. It has some great news. Not just that we WERE objects of wrath, but the very next verse says that being rich in mercy and love, he made us alive. How? v. 2:9 says we're saved by grace because of faith HE gives us.
So yes--he does hate sinners. But he also loves us, and he saves us. God is that big -- that he can actually love and hate at the same time.

Fact is, love is an attribute of God. We don't worship Love. We worship the one that is loving. But he also is said to hate sin. Or is your version of The Force that lame that it doesn't hate pedophiles and murderers?
