I was very surprised to see this, even though I knew (I think most people do) that those who are religious are on the decline, and those that have no religion, or atheists, are increasing. I was shocked to read this though, especially seeing the influence the fundamentalists have on society.
As the article sums up:
"If the irreligious ever get serious about flexing their muscles politically, a lot could change in this country, particularly on church-state separation issues. In the meantime, white evangelicals need to get a more realistic sense of their own trajectory, and stop lording it over other people of faith who share their less-than-robust membership trends."
Yes that is very true
We are becoming a godless nation
Let’s ask a cop, a social worker , a teacher or a penal corrections officer how that is working out

Most teachers I know prefer you are not religious, and actually think rather than be only a rote repeater. However will take my cue from those countries that are more secular, and gladly compare their crime rates to say, oh, the religious south.
Let's take a look at that, shall we?
Some of the most non-religious countries are Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. Germany, United Kingdom and Australia are right up there also. Care to guess what the violent crime rates are versus the USA?

How naive of you to think that being a "godly" nation solved all our problems.
Guess you don't remember slavery, Jim Crow, the Vietnam War, and hundreds of other disgraces this country has suffered since its founding.
The irreligious and atheists benefited from the slavery in the south as much as the south. Probably even more so. Let's not kid ourselves.
I have to agree. It would have been nice if God had included some anti slavery command in the 10 commandments though. Instead the Bible can be used to justify such things.

This problem isn't due to a lack of god. Unless of course you spell god ... work hard, earn one's keep, one is responsible for their actions, and help when one can.

Or, instead of lazily asking someone to serve you information (that is not comprehensive but just what they have happened to see), you could actually look at the data.
Here's some more data for you to chew on. Every year the FBI compiles exhaustive data on violent crime. And every year they break it down by state and region. And guess what? The most violent crime-ridden region of the United State is - surprise, surprise! - the South, which is also the most religious. If you're wondering, the most irreligious part of the United States is the Northeast which has - surprise, surprise! - the lowest violent crime rate in the country. Again, the data: https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s...tables/table-3
In other words, your entire "We're getting more lawless and we get less religious!" is demonstrably false nonsense, as is your general suggestion that Less God = More Crime. You've got your dogma, but you've never made even the slightest effort to see if its claims are actually reflected in the way the world works. And it's not. It's not true, and the data proves it.
