There is a lot of evidence out there in all religious texts and in daily life too to suggest there is more to life than just what we see and experience here on this Earth. Maybe "you" exist in many dimensions. In fact, if other "you"s and other "me"s exist then they also exist in other dimensions too. Then you have to ask what those "you"s are made from and the myriad of problems get more complicated. I think you need to look past any explanation which is limited to 3D wording and seek a multidimensional understanding. You need to leave behind the explanation of the universe by any book, or belief system and go for a personal understanding through a spiritual journey to find your larger multidimensional self. That is the only true religion - returning to your potential.
Appeal to Unknowns is evidence of nothing.

Excuse me? It sounded as though you said that it isn't relevant for modern readers and therefore is relevant for modern readers - if they stop trying to understand it it and just Believe the faith -claims. And finally of course, any faults they find in the Bible are their fault, not the Bible's.

I'd encourage you to do some actual research. The story of the Dead Sea Scrolls is amazing. It demonstrates how serious the scribes were to correctly copy the texts, as they almost identically matched texts that were 1000 years newer when found. They verified that yes--they did painstakingly copy the texts and did not change them as you assume.
Nice try Jeff . Not good enough. It is easy to read prophecy into - or rather out of - the Bible after the event. It would be an interesting exercise if you started (or resurrected - there must have been a few on the subject) a thread with example of these predictions (1) and we can look at them in context.
This is always the knee jerk reply anytime you bring up Bible prophecy, no matter how detailed it is. Just claim that people performed actions to force fit the prophecy! Easy peasey. Really? Am I really to believe that the Jews forced themselves to be scattered to all nations, suffer great persecution and then become a nation again turning a desert wasteland into a fruitful nation?
Israel today is a jewel in the Middle East. I watch videos from people living there and amazed at how the country side is just as lush and green as America. Grain and fruits are a major export from Isreal. The only place that can compare is Dubai which is nothing more than an illusion requiring millions of gallons of water to be pumped in to transform their desert landscape. This didn't happen by mere chance. It was a miracle from God. And it's not a coincidence that they are the focal point of world politics. Just like the Bible predicted. And you can find it all in Ezekiel 36.

It's not surprising to us because we understand how blood operates and is essential to the human body. But even back in the Greeks, they didn't understand that blood circulates through the body. They even believed that air ran through the veins not blood. Being so clueless, I can see where they would have not made the connection of a loss of blood being the direct cause of death. They would look at it as a side of effect to something else that caused the death like a loss of air.
The fact remains that at the time period, the verse flew in opposition to the common beliefs at the time.

Lack of proof is not proof. The claim was presented that the Bible is fiction. Back it up. For ONCE!!
