How on earth can you know anything of what Jesus thought? There is no evidence he wrote a single word. You don’t even know who these “fallible men” are. “You” are clearly disingenuously dismissing what the Bible says on this doctrine and who it was attributed.
This question is born of a failure to understand the underlying principles embodied in Christ's life and teachings as a consistent whole. You don't even try to test what is attributed to Jesus against His unambiguous demonstration of God's True Nature because you treat the fiction of the Bible as God speaking independently of the consistent principles Jesus embodied despite inconsistencies or contradictions. Seeing the Bible as God speaking instead of as a source for understanding Christ's message for us is the mistake.

We have no original manuscripts of the Gospels. We don't know the writers of the Gospels. The Gospels were written decades after the supposed events occurred, so how do you know the true teachings of the life of the Biblical character Jesus, I mean, other than through your hallucinations during deep meditation?

Are you actually NOT capable of discerning the underlying character and principles that motivated Jesus from the narrative and determining what is and is NOT consistent and compatible with His character and principles????

The only writings we have concerning the Jesus character is the Bible. It appears you have read a fiction book and created your own religion. It is strange how many on this forum are doing this.

Wrong. I am just capable of reading and forming a CONSISTENT understanding of Christ's message from His life, teachings, and death as presented in the Bible. I am able to test the likelihood that something attributed to Jesus was actually something Jesus would have said or done. You apparently are unable to do so. You apparently are willing to accept outright contradictions and inconsistencies without batting an eye as so many Fundamentalist Christians do.

Are you NOT capable of understanding that we cannot put ourselves in the mind of mam that lived 2,000 years ago in another part of the world and in a totally different culture.

No, but you can read the descriptions and if you believe them, there is a distinct and unmistakable character and set of principles that defined Him and His actions as described. We CAN use that to know what is and is not consistent.

I have far more knowledge of the mindsets of our ancient ancestors than you give me credit for. The spiritual fossil record is replete with descriptions of what and how they thought and behaved in myriad cultures and generations.

I don't believe in your "spiritual fossil record", so you may as well just stop.
