i love everybody---jews, gays, atheist, blacks, muslims, bhuddist, conservatives
jesus taught to treat thy neigbor as yourself
as a religious or secularist, how do you regard other peoples beliefs or views?
Spend any amount of time here, and you'll find out the secularists really only tolerate those they agree with. Thankfully they are not truly indicative of real life.

I am interested and sometimes fascinated by them. As I've said on here probably a hundred times, I spent 20 years of my life working at the World Trade Center in New York, where I spent every day alongside people of just about every race, nationality, culture, and spiritual path, and we learned about one another. Most importantly, working side by side through our daily mundane lives, it became apparent how much we were all alike more than how we were all different.
I believe there is value in everyone's point of view, although I tend to be less tolerant of those who are less tolerant and accepting of others because of my experience. Still, sometimes I can see that they just don't know any better.

But yes--we are to love each other.
I don't think that's necessarily true. I am not an atheist yet I pretty much get along with most of them both here and in real life. I get their point of view, and it's actually helpful and broadens my mind to listen to it. Yes, in some cases they had to (and still may have to) get past their own prejudices and assumptions about people who are believers, but maybe it's helpful to them to listen to me sometimes, too. I am never going to tell them that they are wrong or that they should share the same worldview as me.
Life is much more interesting when we learn from one another rather than dig in our heels and say WE are RIGHT.

However, in your defense, you're one of those open-minded, tolerant, liberal Christians.

Don't take this in an offensive manner--it's not intended that way. But from what I've seen of you, you tend to be a little bit more "liberal" (not political) in your religious views. They don't mind you because you don't tend to speak in any sort of absolutes.
Jesus is just alright with me. But to all my Christian friends who persist in telling me in just about every conversation that, “ Jesus loves you and just wants to have a relationship with you”; message received. Can we please move on now?

I'm not offended. That's exactly correct. I don't think any human beings can say we have any absolutes when it comes to the spiritual and that it is a mistake to do so.
As an Atheist, I love all and wish peace for the world.
