I smell the smoke, I hear the fire crackle, I feel the breath of the north, I feel my heart throb in rhythm with Songinthewinds drum. I pray for healing and peace for myself and all here.

Someone jump in and drum with me. Use a tamborine or a rainstick if you wish.
Let's raise some energy.

Osayo!! Today is the day of the celebration of the winter solstice, the end of the old and the beginning of the new. There are many different cultures that will be celebrating this day of renewal. As the sun rose this morning I stood out in the sacred circle to greet it and in doing so, as it is in my culture's custom, I extinguish the sacred fire within the circle, but have kept some of the embers and have prepared it to be relit as the sun sets in the west, I will offer up prayers on the smoke of the new sacred fire, prayers for peace, harmony, understanding, and respect for all peoples of the world and I invite each and every one of you to renew your sacred fire whether it be literally or within yourself and as the sun sets this evening, offer up your prayers to your Creator by whatever name you want to call him/her.osay
