A request has been made several times over the years for a Hinduism subforum; however, the Administrator has declined the request, since there isn't sufficient interest to sustain one.
Interest does exist to the extent that the R&S mods thought it appropriate to begin a dedicated thread to the subject of Hinduism. This is it.
Thanks, all mods involved. Would there be a policy of melding any Hinduism threads into this one in the future if someone misses the Memo and posts a Hinduism thread elsewhere?
To make this post worth the posting, I may try to find an interesting video -introduction on Hinduism, for non -Hindus rather than those who already know about it.
..........
Well, would you believe, I had a look and in the end, this looked the best.
And I thought I'd post this. Probably culturally more Buddhist than Christian, and with Thailand (as the first place I touched down 1980 on my first Asia tour, it has remained a place I have always felt at home. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfqQ8kHfVHc
What is not generally known to Farangs is how much Hinduism is part of Thai culture. The 'Prangs' are Hindu. There are several in Ayuthhaya and the Iconic Wat Arun is actually a Hindu prang, though within a Buddhist Temple.

Those who have seen in a Royal procession those dudes in the crazy long hats are Hindu officials. The King (though he must be a Buddhist) is actually a Hindu god (Shiva, in fact) in person. This is all left over from the Hindu kingship that the Siamese inherited from the Khmers, Buddhism becoming adopted from Sukhotai.

This could probably be why:
Hinduism and Buddhism have common origins in the Ganges culture of northern India during the "second urbanisation" around 500 BCE. They have shared parallel beliefs that have existed side by side, but also pronounced differences. - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhism_and_Hinduism
Is there a possibility to tack Hinduism on to the Buddhism Sub-forum?...Or Change it to the ‘Buhindism’ sub-forum?...

Or why not just start threads about Hinduism in the religion and spirituality sub-forum with a title: "HINDUISM: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx". Then one can clearly see that the general topic is Hinduism. I'd certainly like to read more posts about the topic.

But it’ll get buried if it’s idle for awhile instead of being a header...
Yes, so we have to work with what we CAN do, and if there really isn't any interest, then it won't matter anyway, right?
I mean, so far exactly ONE PERSON (Transponder) has actually posted something about Hinduism since the thread was created.
I think that part of the problem is that most of us in the West know little -- if anything -- about Hinduism. And that's too bad. Being a frequent traveler in Southeast Asia, I've visited a number of Hindu temples and I still know little about it. But, we all can't know everything about everything.

You could always nag like a child until they give in...
