Did you find it offensive or did you look past the times it was written in and grasp the true meaning of it?

I obviously didn't find it offensive as an atheist. I was involved in the first recording of the UK album and the first UK stage production in 71 or 72 (too old to remember dates now). I remember Christians picketing the theatre and calling it blasphemous.

Well, whether one considers it blasphemous or not, I think the Lord can use it. I remember a few years ago one of our neighbors (an agnostic) came to my husband and wanted to ask some questions and talk to him about Jesus after watching a version of it on t.v. the night before.

I never take anything like that offensive. It's done as art and art is open to interpretation, therefore the meaning you take away from it is always individual. I haven't seen that since I was a little kid though, maybe I should rent it.

If it's the double album with Ian Gillam as JC, Murry Head as Judas and Eyvon Ellerman as Mary it's worth quite a bit now....depending on condition of course.
