Borax, non-toxic, doesn't hurt pets or carpets, works. Often used in areas with scorpions, fleas, etc.

Spent a lot of money one time to get rid of scorpions. Finally used the borax myself and never had another problem. Pest control company in AZ told me about it. Most pest places won't tell you about the simple, cheap and effective things as they want your business.
